Google Unveils Enhanced AI Shopping Experience at I/O 2025
Innovative features aim to change online retail and help consumers
May 20, 2025 – Mountain View, CA – At its yearly I/O conference, Google showed new updates for its shopping system. The updates mix an improved AI Mode with a smart tool to try on clothes online. They change how people shop on the web, making choices clear and simple.
A New Era of Shopping: AI Mode
Google ties its smart AI with the Shopping Graph, a firm list of products. The list holds more than 50 billion items from many shops. Big brands and local stores join as one group. This links products close to one another and aids quick find and clear help.
The AI Mode works by linking a customer’s wish with data. For example, if a buyer seeks hiking boots, the AI looks at the weather or the hike type. Users add a destination or plan, and the screen shows a list of products. The list updates as the user changes a detail. Each word connects close to the next.
Smart Buying with Agentic Checkout
When buyers choose products, the agentic checkout makes the buy smooth. With one tap on “track price,” users set size, color, and a favorite cost. Google then sends a note when prices shift. If the buyer agrees, Google Pay marks the buy safe on the seller’s site.
This step will soon spread to U.S. listings and ties the buy process in tight, short links.
Virtual Try-On: Personalizing the Shopping Experience
Online shoppers sometimes find it hard to see how clothes fit. Google helps with a virtual try-on tool. Shoppers upload a picture and see many clothing items on themselves. The tool uses a special image program that notes fabric and fit for different shapes.
This tool works hard to show a real view. Users see clothes on them at home. U.S. customers find the try-on when they see the “try it on” icon. They click, add a full-length photo, and view how the clothes lay. Each step connects closely in a short, clear way.
The Future of Shopping
These changes mark a new time for online shopping. The updates give buyers a view that ties data with a picture. As AI grows, shopping with Google stays clear, fun, and quick.
Google joins smart tech with features that put users first. The links between product details and cost become short and plain. Customers now shop with care and clear guidance.
Stay tuned for these new features as Google releases them soon for U.S. users.
